To: Representative Heath Shuler,
11th Congressional District, North Carolina

Dear Mr. Shuler,
Friday I watched the circus that we call the House of Representatives on CSPAN, and I want to take a moment of your time so that I may express my total outrage over the outcome of the bill called Cap & Trade, American Clean Energy and Security Act, H.R. 2454.

Nobody in congress could have read the bill, as amended by the addition of some 300 pages in the wee hours of Friday, much less digested or understood the ramifications of that monstrosity.

In my opinion, The United States Congress is in contempt of the people that it is supposed to represent. You voted on a bill that no one could possibly have read, that had not been made public for long enough for your constituents to read and offer input on, that will end up costing our country a lot of jobs, and will increase our costs on everything that we use. Every one of you that participated in approving that bill should be hanging your heads in shame.

I have not spoken to a single individual that was in favor of the bill, and, in fact, most of my associates are vehemently opposed to it.

There were 219 of you that voted for the bill, and Sir, I want to inform you that the same 219 individuals (including yourself) can count on my best efforts to prevent them from being re-elected to any public office.

You have my permission to freely distribute copies of this message to any other government official, and, you may rest assured that I shall insure that it receives space on my personal web pages, and distribution to my friends.

sincerely,
Earl English
